Kate Turns 15 Months Old

Kate turned 15 months old on Monday. She went to her 15 month checkup today. She is growing well but continues to be our tiny princess. She weighs 18 pounds (less than 3%), is 30 3/4 inches long (61%) and her head measures 42 3/4 cm (less than 3%). The doctor was happy with her growth and said that she seems to be on her mommy's growth track! :) He felt some molars coming in which would explain her recent fussiness, runny nose, drooling and sleeplessness. He is happy with her progress with walking/standing. She still isn't walking, but in the last week or so she's started pushing her mini shopping cart, stroller and push cart on her own. He said that it shouldn't be long before she'll start cruising all by herself. I'm actually looking forward to that at this point. Owen was walking at 10 months, so this is very different for us. She is still the world's fastest crawler and she seems to be okay with that mode of transportation!

To quote Owen, "do you know what I love?", here are some things that I love about Kate at 15 months.

*she pats your back when she gives hugs
*her smile lights up her entire face and her eyes disappear
*she makes a car sound when she plays with Owen's cars
*she loves her bedtime bottle and rocking to sleep (I know, we are spoiling her, but she's probably our last!)
*she giggles at Owen on a daily basis
*she gets so excited and says "dada" when Tyson gets home from work
*she sings to and rocks her baby dolls
*she plays peek a boo, shows that she is "so big", points at lights, plays patty cake, and makes her "strong face" on command
*she lights up and says "mama" when I walk into the room
*she has a permanent smile on her face when riding in the trailer behind Owen on his tractor

*she has the cutest little freckle, her first, on her left thigh

Kate facts:
*she has 8 teeth, 4 up and 4 down, with some molars on the way
*wears size 12 month and some 12-18 month clothes; size 3 - 3 1/2 shoes; size 3 diapers
*favorite foods are bananas, goldfish crackers, eggs, pancakes, waffles, strawberries, blueberries, cheerios, green beans
*drinks milk and water out of a sippy cup
*loves books, baby dolls, stacking cups, putting things into purses and baskets, and playing with anything that Owen doesn't want her to play with :)
*starting to use a fork
*sleeps with her lovey, a kitty named "meow", and a pacifier
*rides in her original carrier/car seat (she needs a major growth spurt to get a new car seat)
*she pulls up on everything, cruises along furniture and pushes a stroller, shopping cart, etc
*loves to swing at the playground
*loves taking baths with Owen and calls him "baba"
