A Baby Shower and A Birthday Party

Last weekend we traveled 3 hours South to Healdton, OK. My little sis, Megan, is having a sweet baby boy, Jackson Thomas, in just about 6 weeks. Her baby shower was on Saturday afternoon and I was priviledged to get to help host it at my parent's church. There was a huge turnout and they took home lots of gifts. I still don't know where they're going to put all of the clothes! It was so fun to get to celebrate his impending arrival with so many friends and family. My sweet Nanny and her 2 sisters drove in from Wichita Falls to be there. It's always great to see them. There were so many people there that I've known my entire life. It was great to catch up with them as well. I'll post pics from the shower when I get them from my sister's camera.

After the shower we drove to Ardmore (about 30 minutes away) for a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my dad. He had no clue that we had planned such an event. When he arrived there were 30 people waiting to celebrate with him. I'm so glad that so many were able to come. Both of Dad's brothers were there along with most of their children and grandchildren. Some of Dad's good friends also were able to come and celebrate with us. It was fun to have everyone together. Travis had the idea to have everyone share stories about my dad, so that provided lots of entertainment. Thanks to everyone for taking time out of your schedules to come celebrate Dad's big 6-0 birthday with us!
