Month in Review: May

Again, I am behind on updating my blog with pics from past months, so here is a review of May.

This month was a big one in our house for several reasons. One of the major events was Owen started wearing big boy underwear overnight. No more pull-ups for him! He has yet to have an accident at night. Sometimes we'll hear him get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and then back to bed. He's getting so big! His reward for this great accomplisment was a CARS character that he's been asking for for a while now. It is appropriately named "Leak Less"!

We are big on playdates around here and this month was no exception. If it's a warm, but not insanely hot day we meet at pools, splash pads, parks, playgrounds and in backyards. If it's rainy or crazy hot we meet at the indoor playground at the mall or in someone's air conditioned house. Here are some pics from one of our playdates at our house.

Owen driving Jackson around. They both love it!

Jackson is 5 days older than Kate. He's such an active boy already!

It's a miracle! They're all looking at the camera at the same time!

He hasn't quite mastered the sliding part just yet!

My sis, Megan, graduated with her RN degree this month. She has been through a lot over the last 7 years to reach this goal and we are all so proud of her. We traveled to Murray State University in Tahlequah to attend her pinning and graduation ceremonies. The pinning ceremony was in the afternoon. The graduation ceremony was in the evening and was to be outside but had to be moved inside due to a heavy rainstorm. There wasn't enough seating in the gym so my sweet hubby decided it best to take the kids out to the car to watch a movie. I hate it that he had to miss the ceremony but I appreciated his sacrifice! Congrats Meg!

We bought into a group of season tickets for the Drillers baseball team this year. So we started going to several games this month. The kids do surprisingly well and spend most of the time looking for Hornsby the mascot. Of course any time that Hornsby gets close, Owen disappears behind one of our legs. I guess he likes him better from a distance! The new field is very nice. We've had fun spending some of our evenings there.

This is about as close as Owen wants to be to Hornsby.

Owen finished his last year at Jenks Church Preschool this month. He's gone there for 2 years now. This last year he went 2 days a week for 5 hours a day. It was a nice break for all of us. He really enjoyed going and I enjoyed having time with Kate and running errands with only 1 child! On his last day he participated in the year-end program. It was bug themed and his class was the dragonflies. He's not usually a performer when it comes to large crowds, but he actually did what he was supposed to do and of course looked so precious doing it!

The kiddos had their hair cut by Mr Will at Kuts 4 Kids. Owen has gotten haircuts there for about a year now. Mr Will is super fast and his place is extremely kid friendly with lots of toys and kids movies to watch. This was Kate's first experience getting her hair cut by anyone other than Aunt KK so I had to document it with some pics! Doesn't she look so grown up with her new haircut?!

We'll call this the "before" shot. Shaggy kiddos!

This is the after shot. Look at that big girl!

Playing with the toys afterwards.

Owen never lets me spike his hair, but the day after we saw Mr Will he asked for "spikey hair like Uncle Trav"! So cute!

Mother's Day and my niece, Arwen's, 3rd Birthday Party in Shreveport:

I am truly a blessed woman with a loving and amazing husband, two precious gifts from God who I love more than I ever thought possible, and a family that surrounds us with love!

They love to hug. They also love to chase!

Happy Birthday to our sweet niece Arwen! We love you so much!

Kate got her very own camping chair (Owen has one) from her grandparents. This is her trying it out.

Crafting with Mommy:

Kate doesn't get to color very often so she loved it.

This is why she doesn't get to color often ... she still eats the crayons!
