We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in our home this year. We enjoyed creating new traditions and making fun memories for our family. In the days leading up to Christmas, Tyson was able to take off work so we had a lot of family time. We had a Polar Express movie night with popcorn one night. On Christmas Eve we went to an early Christmas Eve service at our church. Afterward we came home to have dinner and let the kids open one gift. It was of course their Christmas pjs, but Owen said that he "was hoping it would be a toy"! After they changed into their pjs we read the Christmas Story and they reenacted it with their Little People nativity set.
After the kids went to bed Tyson and I started putting together their toys for the next morning. Owen asked for a new Geotrax set. He ended up with several new sets and Tyson was able to connect them to his set that he already had. It filled up half of the front room so his gift looked very impressive! Kate's gifts were a remote control puppy and her first dollhouse. They didn't look nearly as impressive, but thankfully she didn't seem to notice! After putting toys together, Tyson and I settled in to watch "Beck the Halls" aka A Danny Beck Christmas. It's become a fun tradition of ours. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out!
The next morning the kids had such fun with their new toys. They had other gifts to open as well as their stockings, so they kept busy for a while. Tyson and I fixed a nice lunch and we spent the rest of the day playing with the kids. In the evening Grandfather, Grandmother and Aunt KK joined us from Stillwater. The kids loved showing off all their new toys. It was such a relaxing and fun weekend!

Sounds like a fabulous Christmas! Love the Nativity Reinactment. Miss you guys.
Love it! That Merry Christmas picture of the kids is so stinkin' cute. I love all the traditions of Christmas...we also do a Polar Express movie night and pj's and yes, my kids are "always hoping for a toy" too when they open their pj's. So funny!
