June: Happy Father's Day Weekend

Tyson had a great Father's Day this year.  We started celebrating early with a Driller's baseball game on Friday night.  Kala and Kami came to visit for the weekend so they went to the game with us.  Ron wasn't able to make it due to an early wheat harvest in KS this year. We were supposed to stay for the fireworks after the game, but the Drillers tied the game in the 9th inning.  So by the 11th inning it was 10:30 and we decided that fireworks were not worth having grumpy, tired kiddos the next day.  We promised fireworks to Owen on the 4th of July and he was fine with that.

On Saturday we did some yard work, took the kids swimming at our neighborhood pool, and Tyson and I had a date night with friends.  We went to dinner at Go West Steakhouse, saw "9-5" a broadway show at the PAC, and had coffee and dessert at Brady Tavern.  Grandmother and KK had a date with the kids at Chick-fil-a, Target and Peachwave.  I'm not sure who had more fun!

On Sunday we went to church and had lunch afterwards at Tyson's favorite place, Famous Daves.  Then we came home and we all managed to have rest time/nap time for the afternoon.  In the evening we went to Bass Pro to pick up some things that Tyson had been wanting for skeet shooting. We had dinner at Qdoba and dessert at Freddie's Frozen Custard, some of Tyson's favorite places to eat.

The kids and I spent the week before making various gifts for Tyson.  Our guest room has become my craft room and we spent many hours in there that week.  Owen said, "It's so fun crafting and creating in the guest room"!  We made a scrapbook with quotes from Owen and pictures of Tyson and the kids.  We also made a candy gift with some of his favorite candy.  And we made a box of 12 weeks worth of pampering and fun things for Tyson to do with the kids.  Owen couldn't wait to give him all of his "surprises" on Sunday.

Happy Father's Day to the best husband and daddy we know!  We love you more than words can express and appreciate all that you do for our family.
