Tyson + Kenna = Owen and Kate: April: OC College Reunion

We were blessed to spend a day with some of our dearest friends from college. It had been 12 years since most of us had graduated. Some of us have gotten together over the years for weddings, homecoming, etc., but this was the first time that we'd all been able to be together at the same place and time since 1999.
We met in Edmond in our friends Sara and Preston's home. They were gracious enough to host 25-30 of us including our kiddos and spouses. We ate lunch together and visited through the afternoon. It was so fun to see everyone and to catch up on what's happening in their lives. There were 7 kiddos and it was so fun to see them play together. Our friends Troy and Katie's kids, Delaney (6) and Nolan (3), and our kids played great together. Owen and Delaney were fast friends and Nolan and Kate tagged along as younger siblings do. Katie and Troy are due to have their third baby, a girl, on June 21 and I can't wait to meet her. I'm sure that she'll be tagging along with the big kids before we know it!
Our friends Jay and Julie were due to have their first baby, a boy, within a few weeks of our reunion. They spent the day with us and apparently our kids were so noisy that Baby Rory decided to show up the very next morning. He just missed all the fun by a day! He arrived safely and is very handsome with a head full of dark hair.
As college kids we became friends through various social service clubs, church, classes, jobs, etc. Since our days at OC, we've experienced marriages, babies, new jobs, traveling the world, teaching abroad, mission work, and the list goes on. Yet we still share the common bond of our faith and our alma mater. "Hail to Oklahoma Christian . . ." is going through my head right now as I type this!
It was such a blessing to spend the day with our friends and to reminisce about the old times. I look forward to the next reunion. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 12 years!
