March: Roadtrip to Healdton and Lawton

We spent a weekend with my parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew in my hometown of Healdton, OK.  On Saturday, we drove to Lawton to visit with Papa Kenneth (who I'm named after).  He lived in Healdton most of his life but now lives in the VA Center in Lawton.  He's an incredible man and has been blessed with impeccable health until recent years.  He is 94 years young and still shows glimpses of his spunky old self.  It was good to spend time with him as we don't get to see him as often as I'd like to. He's truly a gem and I cherish the visits that we have with him.

When we got back from Lawton on Saturday afternoon we walked to Anthis Park down the street from my parents' home.  The kids had fun playing on the playground with Aunt Meg and Jackson.  We walked back to Grandmom and Papa's house where we decorated their sidewalk with chalk art.  On Sunday we went to church, ate lunch at Bill's Catfish (an all-time fave of mine) and let the kids play a little more at Grandmom and Papa's house before leaving for home. Thanks Mom, Dad, Meg, James and Jackson for making it such a fun weekend. We love you!
